Family Science Discovery Days:
Hands-on science learning and fun days for the general public which take
place on the first or second Saturday of each month. (Please note that we
are open every Saturday during the academic year in addition to these
special monthly events.) Each family day features a different topic with
learning stations and related crafts activities. These public events run
from 1:00pm until 4:00pm throughout the museum. Consult the museum

ANNUAL FOSSIL FEST!
Come enjoy our 6th annual FOSSIL FEST on Saturday, April 9, 2011 from
1:00pm to 4:00 pm. This fun event will celebrate the excitement of
paleontology through hands-on learning fun for visitors of all ages.
Festivities will include behind-the-scenes tours of the museum’s laboratory,
fun games and crafts for children, fabulous door prizes and more! The event
will also feature talks by staff paleontologists highlighting some of the
museum’s exciting recent fossil discoveries and opportunities for visitors
to watch fossils being prepared. Come learn all about fossils and what
paleontologists do!! Fee: Regular admission prices. Contact

”Become a Junior Paleontologist!” Program
This afterschool enrichment program for 2nd-4th graders meets weekly for one
month to discuss what fossils are and how paleontologists study them. Each 1
½ -hour class includes a short discussion complemented by a number of
hands-on activities. This program runs several times a year. Please

Become a Docent!
We are currently seeking volunteers to help with our ongoing and upcoming
outreach programs. Come learn more about paleontology and have fun sharing your
knowledge with visitors of all ages. No scientific background is necessary –
just an eagerness to contribute your time and enthusiasm! Requirements: You must
be at least 21 years old and must complete the
