Don Lofgren, Ph.D

Dr. Lofgren completed a Bachelors of Arts in Geology from the University of Minnesota in 1983, Masters of Science in Geology from the University of Montana in 1985, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Paleontology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1990. In 1991, he assumed the position of director of the Alf Museum.

Dr. Lofgren’s research interests are mammalian systematics and paleobiogeography, biostratigraphy, and depositional environments of Late Cretaceous and Early Tertiary nonmarine rocks of Western North America. Present focuses are Goler Formation of California and the North Horn Formation of Utah.
