In true Hollywood fashion, “rock” stars of the Alf Museum were on hand for the world premiere of Disney/Pixar’s latest animated movie, The Good Dinosaur. The Alf Museum was invited to curate a temporary exhibit at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, featuring fossil dinosaur footprints from the museum’s collection. The display, including specimens from throughout the United States, described the kinds of information that paleontologists can learn from trackways and also told the story of the museum’s unique relationship with Webb. Nearly all of the fossils on display had been collected by students. Alf Museum staff as well as some Webb students selected the fossils and prepared them for exhibit, with an installation in mid-November, alongside an exhibit from the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
